Mr. Ham:
I have read your history of the past, I witness this your terrible
present, and I have a vista of the future. Mr. Ham; you have a glorius
past. I saw you evolving under the equatoral sun a million years
ago, and saw you become the father of allmankind. You bult the world's
first boat abd called it an ark; ten thousand years before Mr. Noah
was born. You built the first arbor and tabernacle, and called it
an Ethiopian wigwam;while the Mayas were living underground, and
the Eurasians were living in trees and dubbing the hollow ones holy-okes.
I saw you make the first brick, the first plate, the first stone
jar and you made alabaster your servant. The pewter dish, the gold
and silver cup were your's while the rest of mankind drank a la
dog. you smelted the iron and made tools for the field and wood
and also utensils for cooking; while the world were using your discarded
system; barbecue.
I saw you Mr. Ham; building huge monuments of stone upon stone and
called them pyramids while the ignorant were building little altars
and settting up little pillars. I saw you going down to the sea
in ships; hauling gold, silver, peacock and ostrich feathers, and
spices of all kinds. You taught the worlf the use of tobacco, coffee,
and tea. Distilling and chemistry were yours You discovered the
art of writing and taught the Greek his ABC's. A son of yours became
a great mason and another wrote the Al Koran. Your sons became kings
in Africa, Asia and were heroes and warriors of renown. Your daughters
were queens of Africa and Asia, and were the virgins who gave birth
to prophets.
Behold the families of Ham! Aethiopia, Huud, 'Ad, Kush, Isis, Osiris,
Tarhaka, Taii, Balkis, Hagar, Bath-Sheba, Hiram, Abraham, Ishmael
and Kedar. What a glorious pageantry! Why is this all dated B.C.?
Because there was the better part; that which Allah held in reserve.
And what was that better part that Allah held in reserve? It was
the call of Muhammed, Abu Bakr, Bilal and Fatima. The spirit of
reawakened Islam.
Mr. Ham; I call you to witness. Why do you worship
a man of sorrows while the rest of
the world worship heroes? Why do you honor Candace's fool eunuch
who neglected a
business of state? Was it not you whom I saw scrubbing the spittons
for Ceaser? Did I hear the Roman lady say to your wife: " Wench!
go nurse my Julius?" Did I not see you on the steppes of Russia
herding the sheep for the Czar? Did not your sons on the Hindu Kush
bowing to a million false gods? Why do you bear the cross alone
and let the world go free? What were you doing on the Isles of Jamacia
wating for your slave ship to come? Are those your children whom
I see hanging on those trees? Maybe your god is asleep. Hush! I
hear a rumbling sound-Osiris is turning in his grave. That mournful
cry I hear is tit the wind? No. 'Tis nature. She wrings her helpless
hands and weeps for you!
The German stands on the banks of the Rhine,
the Chinaman stands on the Yangtse banks,
and who stands on the Nile?
On Jordan's stormy banks Mr. Ham now stands,
And casts a wistful eye.
Since the morning of the world man has ever tried to makes his dreams
come true.
Those who developed their brains, and put forward their best efforts
succeeded. those who did not think, but depended upon the direct
aid of the gods failed. The builders of the Pyramids did not accomplish
their task by msytic contemplation upon "the houses not made with
hands" Neither did the dreamer of the aeroplane complete his invention
by singing "swing low sweet chariot". Dwelling in the lnad of dreams
without mental and physical activity is to sojourn in the fool's
paradise.
Allah helps those who helps themselves. So we must make our dreams
come true by energetic thinking and hard work. And all praise is
due to ALlah, besides whom there is no God; the King, the Holy,
the Author of peace, th granter of security, Guardian over all,
the Mighty, the Supreme, the Posessor of every greatness; the Creator;
the Maker, the Fashioner; the Lord of the worlds.
